Don't you think for one second if it wasn't for sales of the K car or maybe the Dodge Caravan there would have been a budget for say.....the Viper V10? Kind of amazed how little some of you understand about business.....Guess that's why we all can't be our own bosses.

well, Einstein, if it wasn't for the sales of the K-Car, Chrysler had zero budget.....they was facing certain death....they scraped bottom and came out with an affordable model that appealed to car buyers....and yes the Caravan morphed from the same platform...good marketing, best product....nah

My point is just because a company sells more items than others does not prove that that item is the best out there.......

Welcome to why your beloved Arctic Cat has been taken over by giant Textron......they had no budget due to poor sales. Cat has always been awesome on race day but couldn't translate it to big sales on Monday. BRP since slipping from their Bombardier noose have continually brought products that appeal to the masses. Are they the best......arguable......most innovative currently....undeniable.

Well here's a couple facts to put out there
1: the doo 800 did have carbs until they felt the etec (superior to plain old FI by every magazine Tester EVER) was tested enough to release to the public......pretty much what Cat has done with their new DSI 800 but you all praise them for taking their time to bring it to market....kinda hypocritical No?

2: the 800R isn't overly unreliable as its basically the same motor as in the etec with different fuel delivery system and there's tons of those running with a lot of miles on them.

3: the XP chassis did suffer from being harder to side hill due to the fact it was designed as a trail sled (which it absolutely outclassed every other sled makers offering at the time) and huge sales for BRP which in turn allowed them to create the XM chassis which was a huge step in the right direction.

4: Fast forward to the the Gen 4 designed from the ground up to be a mountain sled......does it have issues.....I don't own one but I think one would have to be blind to think it doesn't. Ski Doo will get there with constant refinement year after year.....much like your beloved ProClimb chassis from 2012 thru it's latest incarnation.

Lol Cat has had batteryless EFI since the late 90's. Doo was beyond late to the FI club but yes the etec has been a good motor. It's not like cat was going without while developing this motor they had the 2nd best mountain motor already.

800r made good power but is a turd reliability wise. Only saving grace for it was that the Polaris motor was soooo bad in those years. The etec is the same architecture but much more reliable similar to the the 800 liberty vs the 800 h.o. in the Axys.

XM was a big step in the right direction and best all around sled when it was released but Polaris still had a better mountain chassis

I actually have no love for the pro climb chassis. I think it was junk when it came out and actually a step backward from the M-series. It has taken them 6 model years to make it truly competitive.

I don't actually hate doo I'm just brand neutral and will call out brands for crap and deliver praise where deserved.

Finally we get back to the point I made way back when about Sinead O Connor and last hit in the 90's

If ya'all didn't get so butthurt you would have just laughed at that and moved on.....cuz that was some funny Chit !!!

And it was one of the biggest unreliable piles ever heaped onto the snowmobiling world lol
Most owners swapped them over to carbs. Doubt you can even find a working EFI Plus anywhere now.
But god those ol PRS chassis were beautiful looking.

We bought one for the shop. A shop full of skidoo riders . We use it to develop parts and experiment so we are in the know for our cat clients. It’s been on almost every one of our rides.I won’t say better or worse but I will say if the 850 and the cat were in the trailer I would ride either one. Very nice sled.
