Hey guys I'm new here so I might aswell say a few things. I just got a 2012 M8 Limited in July and only put a few miles on it so far but it's a wicked machine. I also have an '05 M7 162 for backup. Drive a fully deleted 2015 Cummins. Yea, I like horsepower.

My my main reason for joining is I need some specific help with my unit. Took it to Valmount a few weeks ago, ran awesome all day. Brought it home and went ditch banging with the little snow we have and it ran awesome. But for some reason, the gauge quit working while it's been parked (outside I may add). Tried riding it again and it seems like it hits a limiter like it's in a limp mode of sorts, but because the gauge doesn't work, I can't tell if it's a code. Tried a working gauge off my buddies M8 and it doesn't work either so there's obviously an electrical issue.

Ive be searched all over but I can't find a particular answer. Would it be a weak stator? I stripped it right down and look at all the electrical but none of it's rubbed thru, all the connections are good. I'm stumped. And with oil prices the way they are I really don't want to take it in for some jackass to charge me $800 for some simple little thing I could've done myself.

Any by help is really appreciated guys. Thanks!

On an electric start sled they are on the right hand spar above the can. I believe the non e start sleds have them there as well but could be wrong

I never noticed anything obvious in that area. I'll have to look again. I've been way too busy with work and I haven't got a chance to troubleshoot anything.

I noticed theres a portion of wires that could rub on the frame but it's all covered up nice now. I also heard a ground wire or something that runs under the engine and causes issues? I don't know. I hate electrical....

They are wrapped in a cloth cover, if I end up pulling the cone of either of our sleds I'll take a photo of the location for ya

That would be much appreciated! I'll be home Sunday to take another look at it.

The he stuff under the cloth/Velcro is just wires, I never notice any fuses under it. We unplugged all of the connections in it and inspected. Unplugged the ECM, inspected, still nothin.

Okay! I think I know where to look now. I've had 4 different people look at it now and all of us still can't find anything. But now I see where they could be hidden. Thanks fella! I'll report back in a few hours what I find
