Ya. Unfortunately I heard this to. Closed for 5 years. And sunpine is rumored to be putting up cement barricades up on all their roads to keep campers out
It was only a matter of time and the whole prairie creek area will be done. Sad to hear and I did hear this from a local RMH guy on this site

Yeah I'm a local rocky guy but I can't find it anywhere.... Last year I heard the falls creek road was being closed because west fraser bought it and was going to log the area. They were starting to log it late last year. I heard about the 5 year closure but so far just rumors... nothing solid

Yep ,it's Westfraser not Sunpine, the decision was made last fall by Westfraser & SRD ( so I have been told). I spoke with Ty Lund yesterday and he confirmed this as well. Huge concrete blocks to go up on every Westfraser road in the west country on every long weekend.
The falls creek area will be 5 yrs minimum for logging operations, and then might get reopened (MIGHT).

If its only the road being closed thats fine, riding on a road is no fun anyway. I could see the road being closed as west fraser will own that, but it would be tough for the area to be closed as this is public land. It could happen, just like the "bighorn backcountry", but it would take some time to get in place hopfully not something that will happen overnight.

still closed probably will never reopen has it was closed due to fish habitat was a great area to ride but not a sustainable area as there are way to many creek crossings

I've looked many times over the years and have never seen evidence of a closure to this area other than enforcement to stay off the logging road that begins across from Baseline. That said, it's been 2 years since I've been there myself and at least a year since I combed the web for status updates on this area.

I know a few people that got fined on the road but haven't heard people fined for being on the creek. If I remember correctly, Arff was gonna call SRD last year to confirm.

There is talk about increased enforcement from UCP, not sure i would be pushing the envelope at the moment, from the bridge on the access road you would have to cross the creek and travel down it at least 20 times. from the east is ok as far as i know?

falls creek has been designated a bull trout recovery project from the bridge east. if you stay out of water you may be ok.

why not call SRD and find out?
