seems to be a bit biased and a lot of embellishment, to promote a certain agenda of the writer in my opinion. a lot like sensationalist journalism.

That's all it is with everything nowadays. People's opinions. Pathetic what journalism has become

true ^, i'm sure there are problems, likely from new campers having no where else to go. lots of people out of work, young adults letting off some steam, going to be interesting come September to see how many are still out camping.

lots of new RV's and atvs sold this summer, could be interesting when the snow flies and people still out of work, interesting times indeed

I disagree, I believe there is some truth to the story. Ive seen first hand many years ago of junk left from random camping. The problem is probably getting worse.

Local radio host actually went there on the weekend, cause its there favorite spot to go. They did not even stop cause of the congestion.

Absolutely its a problem.

Personally I think outdoor education needs to be a mandatory course taught in every high-school, maybe get rid of some of the social studies BS and replace with this. There is no common sense anymore, there are so many multi-generational city dwellers these days that don't understand there isn't a garbage man to pick up after them when they are out in the wild. I think it would do 2 things, it would teach some of the basic survival skills needed when outside and appreciation and stewardship for the outdoors, and I also think it would increase use of some of the areas, which could increase membership numbers of the various clubs and associations across the province.

I also think there needs to be more funding put back in place for maintenance of these areas and enforcement. If there was more officer interaction and education would make a difference, and if they fined the idiots that wreck it for the rest of us would be great.

No doubt that some random campers leave a mess. And there's probably been a huge surge recently given the Covid restrictions being lifted and people needing to get out of the house.

I say slanted because the article doesn't mention any context like above, just implies the RC is destroying the backcountry and should be shut down.

We have a family in town that bought their little guy a gas quad and he rides it on the walking paths and the local school yard education not just a swift kick upside the head it’s just ignorance

Talked to someone who went up Siffleur falls last weekend and they said it was terrible. People leaving garbage everywhere, had never seen so many disrespectful people.

I’m in Nordegg now for three weeks. I am definitely seeing trailers parked where I’ve never seen them before. Popular areas like crescent falls ,fish lake and siffleur falls , are definitely a lot busier. I’m not a hiker so I can’t speak to the mess left behind. For the most part it is business as usual out here. Gas is $108.9 and beer is ......expensive lol. This weekend will be interesting.

not sure if anyone else caught that the Stony Indian reserve don't like us campers/atv`ers coming onto their land, but it was ok for the Indians to stop traffic and trains all across this country.

It wasn't first nations blokcing the railways. It was a well funded attack on Canadian resources and went against the wishes of the Wet'suwet'en.

I wasJust in Summerland BC and spent a couple days at the beaches with my brothers kids. We were some of the last families to leave in the parking lot would be completely full of diapers water bottles and crap. You could actually see the spacing of the garbage from all four doors meaning for passengers open the door drop **** and drove away. Garbage on the beach etc. there’s too many people not too many ****ty people in Nordegg.
