I agree, 2 or more is better. On that note, a buddy and I would like to tag along if anyone is planning a ride from Rocky to Nordegg in the next few weeks. We took the trail a number of years ago and would like to try it again with someone who is familiar with the route and the POI's.

I will see how the next few weeks look

Sounds good, 2 of us and possibly a couple more will join you that weekend. Be nice to see Hadster again and if Arff makes it, all the better. Looking forward to a great ride!

Just as a warning, there is an early elk and white tail deer season in that area. includes east and west of Misty valley and Saunders. Also in the Jackfish lake area north of Hwy. 11. This is archery and rifle.

Rats, the weather won this weekend, hopefully we will get some sun by mid October, but I'm not holding my breath!

I might be able to find one when I get home , but it’s probably an old one and some of that route we don’t use anymore. We are sticking much more to the original rail line recently instead of so much of a bypass.

Sorry I’ve been having some trouble with my Garmin files on the computer, haven’t gotten it figured out yet.

Hey guys, me and a couple of friends just heard about this trail. We are planning to come this way this weekend. Is it a trail we can do on dirt bikes? Would it be better is we start from Sanders and head west?

Could I please get the GPS file as well?

Thanks.

Yes you can do it on dirt bikes (especially the section from Saunders to Nordegg). That section is primarily developed pretty good , there is a new section just built (may not even be completed yet) tp keep us on the south side of the hwy. the rest from Saunders east towards Rocky is pretty challenging in some spots and very easy cruising in other areas. Recent logging has really wrecked the trail in some areas that make it hard to find the trail.
Sorry there is something wrong with my GPS files and can’t send them, but that west end is pretty easy to navigate.
Given time you can cross the hwy at Nordegg and go up to the top of mount Baldy (if the snow has melted enough).

Since we are on the topic of trails, would anyone have trail maps for the North side of the hiway in the Jackfish lake area. I have riden in the area and have found 3 or 4 cabins, been up to the Aurora Fire tower.
Looking for trails to the west that might connect up to Shunda creek area.

I am heading out on June 11th for almost 4 weeks and would like to learn the area better.
Alsolooking for anyone who might want join me on day rides.
