where to Dry Bush camp and quad around Carson pegasus or Windfall?

We have a good size group 8 campers looking to go quadding in the area of carson pegasus lake north west of whitecourt on the way to swan hill on hwy 32, or Windfall as an alternative....

Any suggestion from people that have gone there?

Thanks for all your feedback

I don't have no areas to give directions to. But that area is littered with cut lines , pipe lines and trails. If I were you and able to go for a drive and scout the area you will find something. Check out the golden triangle. It passes not to far from there

you are asked to stay off the golden triangle snowmobile trails with ATV's.

That's what I thought too. I guess we'll need to get our act together and build some ATV-only trails.

Is it just asked to stay off or is there a law/rule making you stay off? I totally get the winter thing but summer not so much.

they don't want the ATV's rutting the chit out of the trails, makes it VERY difficult to lay down a groom in the fall if they are dealing with frozen ruts in soft area's of the trail.

Just wanted to clarify. Hunt up in that area and just wanted to know if I drove on it unknowingly if I was breaking the law? Not going to make a trip up there just to ride it or anything

no you won't be braking the law as Alberta does not have legislation like other provinces have to ticket you however be redpectfull of the snowmobile guys snd just stay off them. They put a pile of time into those trails and last thing they need is them all rutted to hell.

They get quaded on every day, by members of the club and everyone else from town so do what u want, most of the sled trails arent worth riding on as they cross massive swamps which are pretty much impossible to get through and lots of washouts which you cant get by until the groomer fills them with snow, the only one actually worth a ride is the goodwin/summit trail to the summit cabin. As for bush camping, there is lots, pick an oilfield road just past carson turnoff, drive down until you see spots, lots of hunting camps off every road that basically sit empty all summer until hunting season
