There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of activity from the Alaska crowd here but I thought i'd throw this one out there.

Is there anyone going next weekend? I'll be there racing in the hill climb and possibly the hill-x though i'm still pondering that one. I've never raced before and don't really care if I win or not, I just want one more weekend on my sled. We'll be there all weekend and staying in our enclosed trailer. Here's a link for more info.

welcome

Competed in the Hill Climb and Hill-X and had a blast. Didn't finish either run on the Hill Climb due to my not reading the right line. Finished all 3 heats in the Hill-X and finished 7th out of 10. Had so much fun i'm going to do it again next year and hope to finish the Hill Climb next time around.

Didn't put it there because I haven't seen anyone from Alaska around here lately and figured if they did show up, they'd look here. Also didn't think the majority (canadiens) here would be interested in this since its not held in Canada.

Just because something isn't held in canada when it involves sledding we all could be interested. You would be absolutely amazed at how many people travel to go ride in stewart and hyder. And yes hyder is in alaska. And no hyder is not in canada but us canadians do go to ride that area.

I know where Hyder is and yes I know people travel all over to sled but I don't know anyone that travels up here to ride. I hope to someday make it down to Revy or Revelstoke or someplace that gets tons of snow every year. We haven't had a great snow year in quite some time now.

There are lots of guys that travel to stewart and area to ride. A buddy of mine makes 4-6 trips a year up there and quite a few others make trips there also. check out the stewart section. I know that i'd love to make a trip up there to go sleddin.

I've never been down to SE Alaska, i've done all my riding here in South Central and in part of the interior. I started sledding about 3 years ago and we really haven't had a good snow year since then but I do remember getting some tremendous snowfall before I started. Kinda wish I had started sledding sooner.

I've been told by everyone that has gone to AK to go sleddin that there isan't anywhere else like it in the world to ride. We have had one of the best years for sleddin this year than we've had in along time. we still have well over a month of ridin left here.

We've got 1 area close by that still has a ton of snow but the local DNR folks are looking at closing it on Sunday due to some road maintenance that they need to get started on. A couple of local guys are working with them to try and keep it open, hopefully they are successful with their efforts.
