That would be PC issue not pipe. Had similar issue earlier this year with older cat. Pipe reviews seem to be same as the proclimb cats.

well of course it ran... it ran horrible!!

He’d be a first then. Definitely can’t run without a programmer as the mapping is much different. So I’d still blame the PC. Bad PC box or no programmer would cause that. I ran into a bad PC box and a bad BD box this year.

I agree with you... I know you can’t run without PC. However PC was fine according to Arctics Edge.
This was the Jaws “Big Shark” kit as they call it with Y pipe, pipe & can. Literally rode up ran terrible, tried without PC.. rode back down ASAP to trailer .. installed stock pipe only and zipped back up and ran great.

Definitely something weird happening. Wrong altitude pipe maybe? Still, it should have ran better then described. We had that same issue with a SLP and PC. Found a hair line crack on under side of pipe along the weld for support brace. I’ve been batting a thousand with the Big Shark. Besides the two failed controllers lol.

Good to know.. I can’t answer that on pipe but will check back!! Jaws has been reputable on cats since early 90’s so maybe there was mix up on pipe...

Possibly. They built a few with removable bushing for altitudes, as well as non removable but were altitude specific. Linderman as well as Turbo Al also have their own spec bushing they install as well. Really fun to figure out when someone buys a used one lol

The kid installed the big shark kit on his ‘15 800 and seemed okay. I got new numbers from Linderman and it snapped things up. Also did away with the air box nose cone restrictor and breathes much better. Power response was quite noticeable with the Big Shark Kit compared to my ‘16 800.

I am running a big shark on my 18 mountain cat for 300miles now and it pulls really good! I run at 2000ft and 72g in the primary clutch, the mapping in the powercommander seem to be good but you have to run with the air duct, the plugs are good color and i dont have any issues. Run strong!

How did it perform?

It doesn’t perform on the C tech, the big shark pipe worked great on the zuke motor, The pipe was built to make power in the higher RPM range, this motor makes power in a totally different RPM range then the zuke motor and is much lower rpm then where the zuke made its power. Waste of time and money, trying to make it work on this motor until they come out with a Ctech specific pipe. Take your stock pipe and get it ceramic coated, and install a powder freaks head with some good clutching, and you will be way further ahead

I have to strongly disagree with you. It works very well. Installed a few and guys love it. This year it is improved again with some added giddy up.

Yeah it works very well like you have personally rode it in all elevations in all temps and weather and you will put your name on it that it will work all day in all rpm ranges and not have any hiccups anywhere because
“Installed a few and guys love it” and I’ve rode it tuned it and tried everything to get it to work PROPERLY with the PC and the BD box on several different maps and it doesn’t work properly on this motor. Not like it did on the zuke motor. Lindermans map on the BD controller is as close to working ok in elevation as your going to get but that’s about it, it’s not this thing rips you have to try it good it’s just ok at best and you can take the jaws mapping and throw it right in the garbage same with the PCV junk

Again as I stated above you will have far bigger gains from a head then a big shark pipe on this motor

Something must be off with yours. We ran them in Revy, BlueRiver and McBride. BD box with our own numbers (mixture of Linderman’s and Greg’s combined) and we were very happy. Not quite the bang the Zuk received but definitely a big improvement. Can’t wait to try the improved version this winter.

Yeah like the wrong pipe dimensions for the motor, that’s great Greg decided to finally do something about it.

Lol. Ok. Weird that all of ours worked. Suggested maps were definitely too rich but that was a simple fix. Only other guys that complained said same thing. Change the fuel mapping and hold on.

Even the big shark for the Zuk changed a few times as did the mapping for different model years.
