1800km
Changing chain case oil.

Decided to pull the cover to check the alluminum gear.

Pulled this blob of alluminum out of the auto tensioner.

Everything looks good, probably change out that alluminum gear in the next 1000km for a metal one, or a fresh alluminum one.

One of the magnesium tabs cracked on the chain case when the bolts go through bolt into the tunnel.

Not sure if this was overtorqued from factory.

Or if I kicked it.

Or it just did it all on its own......

But something to watch for none the less.

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
This is great. Not because it broke though. I wanted to come up with an attachment plate to eliminate those attachment points. The reason was to fit a larger bottom belt drive gear. Maybe my idea would fix this issue.

Post a pic of the bottom of chaincase guard for further investigation.

My bottom gear was shot after 1800 km, pretty much missing a couple teeth and the rest was wore down pretty good, glad I went with that sweet specialty belt drive, now no more worries

Yes I have the Racin Station ones.
Wasn't caused by a hit, think I missed this from new.

That injury is very peculiar for the reason that there are no marks that tell a story. I think the suspension hit a rock, it caused the suspension to get hard hit, like a jarring, shock type thing. And the weak point had to give. Its better to replace a bolt in chaincase than a rivetted tunnel imo. Early seasonitus is real also.

Any tips on how to get all the jewelry off that chain case/oil reservoir so a guy can pull that gear?

Any special tools?

90% sure that bolt was over torqued from factory. Can you JB weld magnesium?

Not sure, I took advantage of the specialty sled show deal, free install, I heard it’s a bitch though
