I want to see a stock, broken in, 19 on the dyno. Cat had these hot tunes on the early release 18s. If they were able to give most or all of that back for 19 then no need to get excited. Thd Silber setup is cool the way you can buy the cable and they can tune your sled over the web via your laptop.

That would definitely have to be a proven gain for what they are charging for it.

They both are proven I would have to say either Silber or PEFI wouldn’t claim if it isn’t a fact! IMO
I would spend the monies... pretty cheap, clean & simple for the gain. So for $1000 you can gain an honest 15hp and 5-6lb torque with Y pipe, can & ECU .. I think is amicable keeping it NA!

I think everyone is waiting for dyno results from a 19. If the 19 dyno's at 162 like some of the ER's did, then why spend the money? Throw a Y on for 160 and you have the same power. If you owned a 18 it could be considered but really those sled work pretty good the way they are. On a 18 Mountain sled it is a 10 hp gain at 6000 ft, 125 to 135. Personally I would rather spend the money riding and enjoying my sled with warranty. If I was to spend any money on a 18 it would be on a Alpha kit. That efficiency has no loss at elevation.

Proven on the snow is what I ment. Dyno numbers can be manipulated with timing and load. 600us for a reflash on the doo 850 is pricy for a unproven on the snow claim. IMO id stick to the jaws pipe and get twice the claimed power, and that pipe has been proven gains on the snow already, it hasnt been proven at altitude yet to my knowledge.
Ive been down the HP claim road before, and what seems to work in a controlled environment wont at altitude.

PEFI flash for the kitty is $550 CAD. It is working quite well as do their other tunes. Howard’s was out testing and tuning the kitty 800 and the Doo 900 Ace the past couple weeks. Big improvements for sure. Their Cat 1100T and sidewinder are great as well. Sebastien is a very smart guy in the flash dept. They’ve brought their game to a whole new level now as well with manufacturing their own exhaust, intake manifolds, etc.

Bottom line is an Alpha 800 will out perform a 850 Quebec Doo.

A Y pipe combined with a low restriction can will always yield more HP and improved torque from a factory set up.
Factory Y pipes are generally stamped with either a crimped or welded seam. The benefit in this is lower cost and high production volume. The problem is hot spots and uneven turbulence effecting Y pipe scavenging.
Custom Y pipes from a reputable builder that took the time to do it correctly can drastically improve the Y pipes scavenging effect and that in it self will do wonders to a motors hp out put. Add a low restriction can to compliment the Y pipe and a little ECU tuning to add a little fuel to make it safe and yes it can be a winner.
I've done this mod many times over the years on carb. motors and got substantial gains from it.
The increased exhaust flow caused by the Y pipe will lead to a leaner running engine, thus why an ECU upgrade would be needed to keep it safe.
A good Y pipe should be smooth with NO seams.

Although modding is temping I think I'll be keeping my 2018 mountain cat stock. It's damn near perfect imo.

So I’m going to try the PEFI flash and SSI Y-pipe. I have the SSI Titanium can (2.9lbs) already so I’m hoping for good results!! My question to AC peeps with the claimed HP increase what is the best option for weights? I personally would like to use the Dalton adjustable because such easy access to tune. I’m hoping not to touch secondary as it’s so silky smooth!

Thoughts?

No issues with pipes just no twins.
I have a can and if I ever tag a rock I'll do a belt drive for about a total of 27# weight savings.
Not going to over molest my first Cat.
Want to give it a fair shake for stockist durability.

Yeah I don't think an "8hp" gain is worth losing a 4 year warranty.

May as well turbo if your gonna flash.

It’s all in what you want... each to their own!! I’m not gonna have this thing in 4 years 1-2 tops just what I do. I was going to put turbo on so doing this is a mute point for me!
