So I’m gonna be throwing a belt drive on for this season but unsure of what I want for a gear ratio, I like the way it’s geared from the factory so looking for something similar to that but have no experience with belt drives. I ride 90% trees in the mountains, not huge into straight climbs but I do like to go fast..... ish lol, I ride a bit at home here in whitecourt on and off trails so don’t want it to be a dog for speed, what’s everyone’s thoughts, would it be worth it to have a couple options and change out that top gear for home and mountains........?

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
Do a 24 top gear for the mountains and 26top for flatland.
It would be cool to do a comparison on the flatland. Keep it pinned right up to the rev limiter and have a look at your speed and rpm. The ecu has safeguards built into it so dont worry about ramming it into the rev limiter. You might be surprised what the 24 will do on the flat. Experiment! It's fun!

Considering the 2018 Cat ctec motor is supposed to be quicker then the zuke, I would run a 2.42:1 ratio, which is what I ran on my 2013 Proclimb 162, no problems with belts, and good trackspeed. After the 925 conversion, it's pulling a steeper finish angle on the helix and more weight with no downsides

2.42 @1-1=74mph/118kmh
2.42@Overdrive=83mph/131kmh

Geared high like this, it is unlikely to reach 1-1 in the mountains as recommended by Olav Aaen. It may suit you perfectly tho if you ride flatland also.

Ya I do a bit of home riding when there is snow, I’ll see how it is, most of my riding isn’t overly high, around that 6500-6800’ mark in the mountains so I think it’ll still work good
