I'm definately slamming Doo. I watched Doo suck my friends into the false advertising(maintenence free bs, less oil use bs) and then have their sleds down for three weeks/year or more. I watched so many peeps spend money on clutching, "wear items" etc and that made me ill.
Please go fight with snopro in the doo thread where issues exist.
It's just good times here.
Thanks.

K, keep me posted, I really wanted to go. My youngest are still not 100% but I got to watch the Jackson races all weekend.

Seeing your vid of this weekend, confirms my belief of the alpha I rode. The alpha is the best out of the box sled for 2019, the twin rail 2019 I rode?? I did not like it as much as the alpha, it was one of those sleds yah get on, and want to give it back to its owner right away. The Mtn cat did not hook up as good as the alpha, the alphas track chews.
Ive told lots of guys this since I rode it, IMO that monorail is more stable than doos tmotion skid.

I thought the steering felt great compared to my 15
The steering is good on my 18-and 19 alpha. But the ski is very aggressive. 12-14 cat skis float over “stuff” with less feed back. But they don’t steer as good on the trails. IMO it’s Less work to ride with less ski

How was the twin rail handling?

I could've just rode off on Randy's Alpha this weekend. I pulled a line on my SnoPro, and had to wiggle and shimmy to crest the hill. I went up and over my mark on the Alpha, and didn't even have to hold it to the bars. Incredible machines indeed.

The alpha is an amazing machine. I only have 4 complaints about it. #1 the intake needs to be redesigned, its quite poorly designed causing people to loose motors from snow and water ingestion #2 the tunnel rear section is a real joke. its actually pop can tin. #3 the sotck muffler melts the belly pan and side panels. #4 the dealers are already selling 19 alphas for 12 5..... not impressed on the resale dropping from 17 plus to 12 5 in one season. Other then that the Alpha is a home run and deserves the title of best mtn sled 2019/2020

When I was looking at ‘19’s a couple weeks ago the one dealer showed me their cost on the ‘19 alpha and unless it’s registered as a demo dealers are losing money at less than 13xxx. This was for a 165”.

Best deal I found across the west 3 provinces was $12999 for a 165”.

I have not had an issue with the first three items yet but yes they certainly could use some improvement.
17+?
My Alpha was 15,600 OTD once you subtracted the $900 in at Cash that came with the snowcheck signing of only2 year warranty.

You guys got a good deal! The neighbour got a alpha mid season and paid over 19!

These issues are easily addressed, though Arctic Cat could doit out of the box.
The intake is a simple prefilter screen installation at the throttle bodies at a cost of about $20.
The tunnel design is fine, the reason it appears flimsy is because it has no heat exchanger to give it back bone like the other 2 builders out there. The advantage to this is no ice build up like the other 2 out there. Cat carries the least amount of snow and ice compared to those other 2. The fix is a basic tunnel brace, problem solved.
Resale value on all the 2 smokes is in the toilet, the only way this can be resolved is to hold back production for a year making the units out there more valuable.
Yamaha has done this for 2019 and it appears to be working cause i have had several offers while riding including one from my dealer for a customer looking, of $15,000 for my 17.

Alpha vs doo. :)

Alpha breaking trail (vertical-extreme) ....doo poaching trail :)

Cat rider around 165 plus gear doo rider 200 plus gear.

Had a 14 cat climb also and it was worse than the doo...no video for that one. The 850 Polaris was down and out with knee surgery this day.... would of been interesting.
