My 2016 took 12oz and its in the middle of the sight glass, I cant see there being a huge difference to your 18

Or ditch the chain and put on a TKI belt drive. I have them in stock. Gets rid of that big aluminum oil tank too with the plastic tank provided.

I think C3 sold all there belt drive stuff to a dealer in Alberta. Think it was mentioned here on S&M.

C3 sold to Specialty Motorsports in spruce grove, they have taken over and are still manufacturing them. I know they had the prototype for the 2018 and believe they have them out now. they are amazing to work with out there, would highly recommend them.

How did your alluminum gear look?

I have bought an metal gear, but I think I am gonna gonna go belt drive.

No idea, 2018 has a drain plug, no more pulling off the cover just to change the oil. But that was the 200km change so I doubt there as any wear, other than the break in.

i have a belt drive on my 2014, it saves some weight, but the oil tank is magnesium, and didn’t weigh a lot anyways. 2018 I decided to leave stock to keep the balance even. Didn’t even replace the can.

Well if you couldn't see the alluminum in the oil that is a good sign.

I am sure there is some, but nothing real obvious. On my 2014 when I changed out for a belt drive there was definite wear on the gear, but it just appeared to be the gear adapting to the chain, so nothing major. I think that is one of the reasons they want an oil change after 200km. That gear had 2000km on it and the auto tensioner still had plenty of takeup left.

What is a guy gonna notice when going to a belt drive?

The belt drives lighten the sled, especially the Cat. You lose the metal oil tank and there is a drop in rotating mass. My Polaris rolls much easier even compared to the quickdrive belt drive, I imagine you will notice this compared to a chain drive too. No more chain oil to worry about too.
