Same idea as what we came up with except cost, $110 vs $35 and they do the exact same job with no ill effect.
It is a must on these Cat's, it will not effect warranty as some fear it might and the material used is specifically designed for this application so NO it does not fall apart.
The common believe is water enter's the intake track through the vents and yes some does on some sleds because of poor fitment. But i have tested enough of these Cat's for numerous issue to know that nearly 50% of the water enter's the intake track via the nose of the hood. It is a design flaw on how the hood is put together. You can tape things up as some mentioned but unless you screen off the throttle bodies as shown, water WILL enter.

Jorgy, you asked about heat, there is no heat at the intake at the velocity side of the throttle bodies. Infact the temps will be much colder, thus the creation of ice particles when water is present. So this emphasis the need for this modification to your intake.
