What are the options for getting a little more rigid protection than the factory plastics?

Not having much luck finding anything for the new drop and roll.

I found this in the Yamaha Sidewinder section of this forum. I'm thinking of getting it for my Ascender after seeing what happened to the Sidewinder.
They are the same.

I probably do this upgrade my self also, I don't think they have one for the disc though.
I heard a rumor Yamaha has a part number for metal ones. I can't seem to find it but then again I don't really have any good contacts at a Yamaha dealership.
Probably would be the most economical fix.

If I can't get that figured out the. I am gonna start calling local shops.

Mots Machining

Nextech - Maybe they will make Carbon fiber ones.......

Redline - they have a CNC plasma and a good welder there.

Canada Sled Parts.

None of these look to be for the new drop and roll, it sticks down so much further. i ran the racewerx one on my old chassis and i can tell they saved me once with the chunk i took out of the metal.

I talked to Dave at redline today he said he would build them but he didn't have a cat in the shop at the moment. If someone is near Sylvan right now and could either run their sled over or take the break and chain guard off that would be sweet.

Have you called that machine shop outta the states? They are looking for dealers....

Their prices is a little over kill for what we are trying to achieve.

If a guy ordered off their site it is gonna be atleast $190 CAD per side.....
And thats their price for the non d&r.

I can't believe there is nothing available.

This is the reply i got from Red star machining.

Greetings Bryce,

Thank you for the inquiry, We have been making the Pickle Protector for a few years now for all of the ZR chassis Arctic Cats And Yama-Cats. Last year they lowered the chain case on the mountain sleds only, So we offer the standard pickle for the current Arctic Cat And yama-Cats (zr) And in about two weeks we will be releasing limited numbers of our New MOUNTAIN PICKLE.

The Mountain Pickle, is a Laser Cut hand fabricated Aluminum direct replacement for the Chain Case of all New Mountain Cat Snowmobiles. The Mountain Pickle will Retain all the factory access points for service.
They will be available by phone order at first, due to the demand, As we build inventory we will put them up on our site for purchase.

We have stapled your information to the wall, with all the other interested parties. We will be calling on everyone first as they become available. If you stay tuned to our Facebook or Instagram Pages @Redstarmachine we will be releasing photos of the parts as they are getting built.

We have no plans to make anything for the brake rotor side. We feel as if it could be a liability to bolt something to the sled around a moving part. (brake Rotor)
The reason I say it is a liability is that A proper hit could leave you unable to pry the metals apart, or make the sled move. As well as it could stop the sled from forward progression after an impact.

We feel as if the Brake Rotor is far more Robust than the Magnesium Chain Case. People may loose the plastic cover due to an impact to the Brake, but the sled will keep on going. The plastic cover can be easily replaced with another plastic cover for only a few dollars.

Backwoods BMP wasn't interested.

Is the pickle protector really the only option here? And they are gonna make us line up like a bunch of iPhone geeks. FFS

Thanks, so what do you figure?

Doesn't sound like they were gonna carve you a dealer price on 10 units at this price....

If echo is gonna become a dealer for these or something like it I will prepay for mine.
