Yes it is. Had some extra space figured it would be nice if I ever had to dry out a set of gloves or some else's googles.
I had the same idea of late as the stock spot for goggles, although the same as the last few years, seems to be smaller. I can't get some of my goggles jammed in due to the steering or chassis underneath the goggle bag. And with the new side panels being so easy and quick to open and close I think you are on the right track.

Those tin foil bags are $70 bucks now, don't let yours go for two few a beer.
