So, I pulled my QSC off to clean it up the other day and noticed both sheave faces had a groove in them. After closer inspection, I noticed that it wasn't really a groove but an area that was less worn. What it looks like is that the entire face of the sheaves are worn down a bit except for near (maybe 3/4") the center of the sheave. What's really perplexing is that the diameter of the unworn/raised section is different on each of the two faces.
Any idea what might be going on here? The QSC primary did come with a couple of shims which I never did install - as far as I know the shims are only meant to adjust engagement RPM.
