97 xlt. Ive been meaning to post this for awhile. It runs fine ( a little rich) but to start it requires pouring fuel in the cylinders. Why? Sometimes it wants to go first pull but then nothing. Carbs needle seats clean and functional.

Yeah it sat for at least 5 years before i got it for free. Clean out tank. New pickup line. Clean carbs. New needle and seat. But i didnt replace the other lines. Summer job i guess.

Hmmm. They are the way they were when i got it. I have to depressed the throttle fully to start it when it does start. Maybe it is choke adjustment.

How do i do that? ( i know how to take it apart )

Finally got around to learning how to adjust the choke cables. Rocketron, you were right i had the cables way too tight and they likelu werent seating, which explains why it would want to start first couple pulls, then die. We'll see once the snow flys. Dont want to pour fresh gas in 'er yet.

Gave er some jam and it roars! Sweet! My 13 year old has a sled.
